Norman Samuels is a bassist and composer based in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

As a teenager, he stumbled upon his passion: music. When he received a bass guitar as a gift from his parents, this four-string wonder transformed into his way of self-expression.
Wiro Mahieu
Wiro Mahieu entered the next plane of existence on the fifth of January 2026 at the age of 62 Wiro was a teacher, mentor, friend and father figure to Norman and taught him bass guitar and a bit of upright bass from his 19th till his late conservatory days at 29. As an initial tribute, Norman wrote a piece for jazzstad Nijmegen which you can read via the link below. Newspaper ´De Gelderlander´ also interviewed Norman about Wiro (link).
